Hydra Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers, is a controversial and non-canonical iteration of the iconic Marvel Comics hero. Introduced in the 2016 comic book series "Captain America: Steve Rogers," this version was retroactively revealed to have been a sleeper agent of Hydra since childhood.

This revelation was achieved through the use of a Cosmic Cube, which altered Rogers's reality. He retained his memories and skills, but his allegiance shifted entirely to Hydra, believing their cause to be just. He infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and used his position to further Hydra's agenda, manipulating events and sowing discord among his former allies.

The storyline sparked intense debate among fans due to its deviation from the established character and perceived betrayal of Captain America's core values. Ultimately, this Hydra Cap was revealed to be a fabrication and his original self was restored.
